Quote of the Week

I'm so thankful that a very special friend (who sometimes fears she has a rampant ego, so I want to make sure she is properly noted) helped me understand this on an even deeper level this past week. What blessing; what freedom. I picked it as the quote of the week for both of us.

Our present enjoyment of God's grace is apt to be checked by the memory of yesterday's sins and blunders. But God is the God of our yesterdays, and He allows the memory of them in order to turn the past into a ministry of spiritual culture for the future. God reminds us of the past lest we get into a shallow security in the present.

How true and how sad that people hold on to their past sins and revisit them with such guilt instead of the joy that God has set them free from them!! We need to remember that God has removed them from us as far as the east is from the west. Enjoy your weekend!

Hi Sweet Sara,
I love Oswald Chambers. He just doesn't give us any wiggle room in the way he communicates the truth of the scriptures.

I have used his devotional on and off for years!

Our sins are covered by the blood of Jesus, but He can use them as healthy reminders of what we are capable of if we are operating in the flesh and not in the spirit.

Thanks for sharing this today!! Another reason to give thanks!!

Hope your Sunday is a joyful one!!
Blessings,
Becky

Wow! I never looked at this way. It is good to be reminded that we should find our security in God ALONE!

Dearest Sara - to read your blog, and be priviledged to read the thoughts you share, and the incredible quotes and testimony you bring to other people, is to also know the power of Faith.

You bless everyone who reads your posts with inspiration and a sense of His great power. The fact is that He takes care of the baggage - we just have to trust His Father's Heart and let Him do that for us when we are most afraid that we cannot do it for ourselves.

Love, prayers and friendship - now and always to an amazing person!
