Heard at our House Today...

My soon-to-be three year old son is in a new phase. He claims he doesn't like anything. Especially if it pertains to food (except Skittles, but that's another story for another time).

For the last couple of weeks when Aiden's breakfast, lunch or dinner is placed before him, he says "What is that?" I briefly explain what we're having and he responds with "I don't like (fill in the blank)." He always ends up eating it (because at our house if you don't eat what you're served, you starve!), but the routine has become a little old.

This morning at breakfast I asked him if he was going to finish his applesauce...the applesauce his sister pain-stakingly made. "I don't like applesauce," was his eloquent reply.

Growing weary of his obstinance, I inquired, "Aiden, is there anything you DO you like?"

He thought for a moment and replied, "I like eggs. (pause) And ketchup."

Oh good. I feel so much better!

What a funny little guy! And so articulate for all the age he is! I have to agree with him too, ketchup is pretty good with everything, but maybe not on apple-sauce!

Hope you are having a good week - and blessings to you and your little ones!

How funny! I hear that often as well with Callie. She also starves if she doesn't want to eat what is put in front of her!

We use to consider ketchup a vegetable here at our household. At McDonalds, Olivia would order, "cheeseburger, fries and ketchup" as if you had to request it. Or if you asked her what did she have for dinner, it was always whatever we had "and ketchup." So now I truly do think it's a vegetable as well. Very cute sayings. Love hearing them. Hope your day went well and you're getting some rest soon!!!

Lol! This stage too, shall pass. You'll look back on it and laugh, trust me.

Be thankful Heinz doesn't make green ketchup anymore (hmm, I feel a blog topic coming on here....).

How cute...yeah, Davey doesn't like much either, and he'll let you know about it too....he eats peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, yogurt, applesauce, chicken nuggets, apples, ice pops, ice cream, cookies, chips, loves egg noodles with GRAVY.....but he's picky too. Just in case you were wondering....HA!

He sounds like me!! My Mom said I would only eat Cheerios and white bread!! She asked the Dr. what to do and he said, "Don't worry, it won't kill her and she'll eat more things eventually"! Too funny!!

Eggs with ketchup used to be a fave of mine, too!

Have a great Thursday, and thanks for one of my bloggy friends!!

Blessings,
Becky
