A friend emailed this little story to me yesterday. It depicts what God has been revealing about my own heart this past week, although I've been struggling to put it into words...
A young couple moves into a new neighborhood. The next morning while they are eating breakfast, the young woman sees her neighbor hanging the wash outside.
'That laundry is not very clean," she said. "She doesn't know how to wash correctly. Perhaps she needs better laundry soap." Her husband looked on, but remained silent.
Every time her neighbor would hang her wash to dry, the young woman would make the same comments. A month or so later, the woman was surprised to see a nice clean wash on the line and said to her husband: "Look, she has learned how to wash correctly. I wonder who taught her this?"
Her husband said, "I got up early this morning and cleaned our windows."
...And so it is with life. What we see when watching others, depends on the purity of the window through which we look.

That was very funny, but yet so true!! Hope your weekend is going great, don't forget to come by and get your award!!
I love this story Sara. I am so guilty of this that if you were here you'd be able to see my red face. And it always seems to be my husband who comes out with the considered, calm and unjudgemental side of the story. At least I can see it must happen to others too! I am too quick to judge and less quick to look at myself. Something to definitely think about this week I reckon. Hope you've had a good weekend.

Wow!! This is a wonderful story!! I, too catch myself sometimes passing judgement, and I hate it when God reveals to me that I have! Sometimes it can be so subtle and quick that we don't even realize it.
Thank you so much for this awesome reminder!
Have a joy-filled week!!

This is a very good story. Unfortunately, I can see myself. Sometimes it's hard to keep our thoughts in check. I can tell you that over the last few months, God has pruned me much.
I'm so glad you shared this!
